Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan look stunning at Deshmukh wedding reception

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were the cynosure of all eyes at the wedding reception of Dheeraj Deshmukh and Honey Bhagnani at Taj Lands End in Mumbai last night.

Earlier this month, Abhishek Bachchan was conspicuously missing by Aishwarya’s side when she attended the reception of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza. Pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and ma-in-law Jaya Bachchan had accompanied Ash to that bash.

But at the wedding reception of Dheeraj Deshmukh (Ritesh’s brother) and Deepshikha Bhagnani (Vashu Bhagnani’s daughter, also fondly called Honey), Aishwarya Rai stepped out with her hubby dear and sent the photogs in a tizzy.

The duo was impressively dressed for the event. While Abhishek Bachchan looked natty in a suit, Aishwarya Rai was simply stunning in a cream-coloured churidaar with mid-length kurta by the designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

The evening saw the presence of a lot of Bollywood celebrities, including Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Arjun Rampal, Mehr Rampal, Sophie Choudry, Jacky Bhagnani, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sajid Khan, Maanyata Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, Kangana Ranaut, Lara Dutta, Shazahn Padamsee and Urmila Matondkar.

But of all, it was Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan who caught our eye the most. Check out their images from the reception, and there is also a pic where the love between the two is apparent.

Why Aishwarya Rai's daughter Beti B's name remains a mystery?

While the nation has been eagerly awaiting for Aishwarya Rai's daughter Beti B's name, here's a strong reason for the unwanted delay of the baby's name revelation. The current buzz reveals that it is because of papa Abhishek Bachchan's hectic schedule that Beti B's name has still remained a mystery to the world.

Even after Amitabh Bachchan got discharged from the hospital after his abdominal surgery, there is no rest for Abhishek. Abhishek is currently shooting for his upcoming film Bol Bachchan, out of Mumbai. Reportedly, the actor has to drive five hours up and down from Mumbai to Wai (the shooting location).

After this, Abhishek heads to visit his ailing maternal grandmother (Jaya Bachchan's mother) and then his recovering father Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek's hectic schedule has also kept him away from spending some quality time with his newborn daughter.

We wish Junior Bachchan gets over with his hectic schedule soon, so that Beti B gets her final name.

Aishwarya Rai Is the Best Woman In the World--At What?

Aishwarya Rai is the number one woman in the world according to a newly-released list. But it's not for what many might think.

When it comes to polls and rankings Aishwarya generally gets top marks--"Most Beautiful Woman in the World," "Most Powerful Actress in India," and so on. Her popularity lies in her beauty, and she's rewarded for it regularly.

http://www.extramirchi.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Aishwarya-Rai-Longines-ad-2.jpgBut now Aishwarya has been named the number one woman in the world in a much more serious category: celebrity brand endorser.

According to World Watch Report, which studies the effectiveness of timepiece marketing campaigns, the Bollywood beauty is the most effective woman in the world at selling luxury watch brands. Aishwarya Rai has a long-standing contract with Longines, the iconic Swiss watch brand.

In an industry-wide vote, she ranked second in the world only to Tiger Woods, who endorses TAG Heuer. Aishwarya ranks well above names which are far better known internationally, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and George Clooney.

Aishwarya may not be doing much work these days thanks to the time she's taking off in order to care for her daughter, but by the looks of this vote she'll never have to worry about losing work: when it comes to selling watches there's no woman in the world companies would rather have in their ads than her.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's baby - Most famous star child

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the most talked about celebrity in India, whether she likes it or not! Considering the popularity of Aishwarya and the Bachchan family in India, it is most likely that Aish's Beti B becomes the most sought after star child in India.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan always had a sort of mystery surrounding her. As time passed by, Aishwarya Rai became increasingly secretive and the media became even more inquisitive about her life. Aish's marriage to Abhishek Bachchan only added to her desirability.

The media then began speculating when Aishwarya didn't become pregnant, even after three years into marriage.

Amidst all rumours, Aishwarya Rai became pregnant and even gave birth to a baby girl on November 16, 2011. Mommy Aishwarya is taking effort to ensure that her baby is cut off from the limelight and is away from the starved media who is desperate for a glimpse of Beti B, as she is popularly known till date.

Soon after the birth of Aishwarya Rai's baby, there were rumours that the Bachchan family would sell pictures of Beti B to an international magazine for a huge amount of money. All rumours came to a standstill after Amitabh Bachchan made it clear on Twitter that they will not reveal the pictures of Aishwarya and Abhishek's daughter.

Whether it is her name, photograph, first birthday or her first day in school – The media will keep a close watch on Beti B and her development!

SRK, Abhi or John for Aishwarya's comeback?

It's been only 3-month since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to her daughter, still known as "Beti B" and ever since there's been speculations about the return of once Bollywood queen to the silver screen.

There have been quotes from alleged "sources" and "reports" of various projects that the actress has taken up. But no confirmation yet from the lady herself.

Only a month after 'Beti B' was born there were reports that Ash is making her comeback with Shah Rukh Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani'.

The news made way to other media houses stating that Bhasnsali has somehow managed to finalise the deal with her for the lead role in his long pending dream project. The filmmaker reportedly had a meeting with Aishwarya at her residence in Mumbai and sealed the deal.

That's not where the story ends; apparently Shah Rukh Khan has been approached and the star seems to be giving the project a serious thought.

And then the news comes from south film industry that Ash plans to stage her comeback with superstar Rajinikanth.

It was reported that Aishwarya, post her delivery, will make a special appearance in the south superstar's next 'Kochadaiyaan'. Incidentally the film has Deepika Padukone as the lead actress. Two posters of the film are already out but there seems to be no mention of Ash anywhere or any indication of her cameo.

And the latest to the list of speculations is that 'Agent Vinod' director Sriram Raghavan will soon begin his much-delayed sci-fi film with John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Sriram' film titled 'Happy Birthday' will take off, post the release of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s most ambitious project 'Agent Vinod'.

Sriram had originally planned the project with Ash a few years ago and had announced his plan to cast John Abraham opposite the actress.

However, the project did not take off then and Raghavan shifted his focus on directing 'Agent Vinod'.

Alright, so if this report is correct what do we make of all the other reports filed on Ash's comeback?

Interestingly, if DNA reports are to be believed, several filmmakers are offering her movies to pair with her husband Abhishek Bachchan, hoping to raise her interest to re-enter the industry.

But the question that still bother us is, is she really in a mood to make her comeback so soon?

We have noticed that Ash is in no shape to return and face the camera. Her baby flab was quite noticeable in Riteish-Genelia wedding party.

If Ash is making a comeback she needs to get back in shape really fast. Even she must have noticed how her popularity ratings have taken a nose dive and her name doesn't even feature in Times' Top 5 Most Desirable list.

Our guess is that the actress will take her time to make a comeback - at least a year. She has taken motherhood with all seriousness and like she does most things perfectly, also wants to be a perfect mother.

If you remember the actress has been on sabbatical over the past year because of her pregnancy. She also opted out of Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine' due to pregnancy.

And post pregnancy it is quite natural that the lady will give her undivided attention to her daughter.

All the rumours and speculations of her comeback will keep readers busy but we shall wait to hear from the lady herself about her most awaited comeback.

But fans do hope to see Aishwarya Rai sizzling in the silver-screens soon and cast her magical charm once again.

Aishwarya to star opposite SRK in HAPPY BIRTHDAY?

If you thought that post delivery Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has bid a good-bye to films, then here's a piece of good news for all her ardent fans out there. Reportedly, the lady will make a comeback with Sriram Raghavan's next directorial venture HAPPY BIRTHDAY opposite Shahrukh Khan.

If rumours are to be believed, actor John Abraham was initially approached for the male lead. However, now the buzz is that SRK has been finalized for the role.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY is a sci-fi film which will be directed by AGENT VINOD's director Shriram Raghavan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not hired nanny for Beti B

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who gave birth to a baby girl on November 16, has reportedly not hired a nanny so far and she has personally been looking after her Beti B. Sources claim that the former Miss World is doing everything from changing the diapers to feeding her.

Sources close to the Bachchan family reveal that Aishwarya Rai spends all day with her daughter. She personally takes care of her without leaving the room even for a minute. Sources add that her family is offering to share her work, but Ash has politely refused to let anyone.

However, several Hollywood celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Jessica Alba and Mariah Carey have spent thousands of dollars on nannies. Even Indian celebs like Maanyata Dutt and Farah Khan have hired nannies. One can not stop asking why is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not opting for one? The answer to this question is that she wants to enjoy motherhood thoroughly.

Ash-John next on Agent Vinod director's list

Sriram Raghavan has made just three movies in the last eight years — Ek Hasina Thi (2004), Johnny Gaddaar (2007) and now Agent Vinod, on which he’s still putting finishing touches. “Yeah, I’ve been a little too slow, Johnny Gaddaar was out five years go,” agrees the writer-director, notable for
producing a 45-minute documentary on the Indian serial killer, Raman Raghav.

Pointing out that he had expected to wrap up his third film in two years, the 49-year-old admits that the first draft of Agent Vinod itself took six months. “But that’s no excuse. Even Steven Spielberg makes one movie a year,” he says, adding, “This time, my New Year’s resolution is to speed up on the output.”

AishwaryaSaif Ali Khan’s home production on the lines of the Bond, Bourne and Tintin series, is slated for release on March 23. If people like it, they could make a sequel. “It’s easy to take the franchise forward because it’s a spy thriller and could lend itself to different adventures in new countries.

I’d like to do another Agent Vinod, but it’s not necessary that I have to do every film in the series,” says Sriram, pointing out that Mission Impossible, while retaining its star, Tom Cruise, has moved from Brain De Palma (Mission: Impossible, 1996) and John Woo (Mission: Impossible II, 2000) to JJ Abrams (Mission: Impossible III, 2006) and Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, 2011).

Before he helms another Agent Vinod, Sriram would like to make a “smaller, more intimate movie”. The filmmaker has been working on a couple of projects, but everything has been put on hold till the release of the Saif-Kareena Kapoor starrer, which has been shot in 12 countries. “We thought we’d finish it six months ago, but when that didn’t happen, I told Ramesh Sippy, with whom I am committed to doing a film next, around June-July last year, that we’d talk only after March,” he says.

The film he had planned with Sippy was titled Happy Birthday and the duo had even zeroed in on John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to star in it. Will he go back to the original cast given that Aishwarya is a mother now and on a sabbatical?

“I’ve not spoken to anyone about Happy Birthday for the last one-and-a-half years. In fact, it’s been out of my head too for almost two years. After Agent Vinod I will go back to it and when you revisit a script after all this time, you tend to make some changes. Let’s see where we go with it,” says Sriram. “All I can say at the moment is that Happy Birthday is a very different film from Agent Vinod. It’s a sci-fi love story, with no car chases and no guns.”

Aishwarya may star opposite Pawan Kalyan in Telugu flick

Buzz is that the ace Telugu director is trying to get Aishwarya agree to her first Telugu movie as a lead actress.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is yet to lose weight post delivery

It is almost three months since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to her daughter, famously known as Beti B. However, Aishwarya has still not lost weight and got back in shape.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently seen at the wedding reception of Genelia D'Souza-Riteish Deshmukh's wedding reception. Though Aishwarya looked beautiful in a traditional and heavily embroidered anarkali green suit with blue and gold dupatta, it was evident from her chubby cheeks that Aish had put on gallons of weight after delivery.

Soon after pregnancy, when Aishwarya Rai was seen with fit flops, rumours were abuzz that the actress is keen on losing weight soon. However, that doesn't seem to be the case right now.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya slipped back into number ten in Top 50 Most Desirable Women of 2011 list.
Well, well...hope our desi queen loses weight soon and gives the younger actresses a run for money once again!

Aishwarya Rai is not losing the baby flab... just yet

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan seems to be in no hurry to lose her pregnancy flab.

Almost three months after her delivery she made her first major public appearance at Ritesh Deshmukh-Genelia D'Souza's wedding reception.

Even after three months she has all the extra flab to make an unattractive Aishwarya.

Her chubby face makes her look adorable but not desirable.

Ash may prefer to lose the pregnancy kilos in the natural way over time but that's costing the beautiful actress her coveted sexy crown.

Aishwarya attended the wedding in a traditional outfit hiding her extra kilos but her chubby cheeks revealed the story behind the scene. She wore a suit with green undertones with blue and gold dupatta and wore her hair down.

Immediately after her pregnancy she was spotted with fit flops but now she has given even those pair a miss and was seen in high heels.

Ash also slips from the Most Desirable list of actresses in Bollywood. From being number two she was featured in as number ten in Top 50 Most Desirable Women of 2011 list.

Contrary to Aishwarya other celebrities moms loss weight in no time to showcase their washboard tummy.

Beyonce, just a month after having daughter Blue Ivy, has got her curves back and recently showed off her whittled down waist in a body con dress.

Miranda Kerr’s post-baby fabulous body was scientifically programmed to be gorgeous and have a fab figure.

Victoria Beckham fashioned her baby belly in a chic navy number at the British royal wedding. And before we could blink she’d had daughter Harper and was back to her usual super slim self.

Angelina Jolie donned the pregnant girl’s fashion staple – a maxi dress when preggers but within weeks she ditched the floaty fabrics in favour of a strapless fitted frock.

Halle Berry looked she was never pregnant just weeks after she had her daughter.

So what's with Aisharya Rai Bachchan holding on to that load of fatty flab?

Aishwarya Rai’s baby fat woes!

Her fans definitely want to see her back on celluloid. But we don’t know whether they would really like to see a chubby-cheeked Aishwarya Rai on big screen or not. Recently when the actress made an appearance at Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s wedding reception, all eyes were on her. Looking beautiful (like always) and covered from head to toe in a traditional outfit that did a good job of hiding her baby fat, what Aishwarya couldn’t hide was her chubby cheeks.

Chubby cheeks and double chin! It seems Aishwarya Rai’s baby fat woes continue. But it’s not lately that the actress has put on noticeable weight. Aishwarya Rai’s last release Guzaarish also saw her on plumper side. Last year, when she walked on the red carpet at Cannes, to everyone’s notice, she looked a little plump. Also her cellulite thighs were visible when she arrived at Karan Johar’s big party last year, which happened before the announcement of her pregnancy.

It is also apparent that the actress is conscious of her body weight, especially now, post her pregnancy and delivery. Otherwise, why a stunner like her goes for a loose dresses with full-sleeves.

There has been a considerable change in Aishwarya Rai’s figure in the last one year. But now it has started showing on her face. However, her fans may wish to see the same Ash who danced like a dream and scorched the screen in her glamorous avatar in Dhoom 2, or who looked slim and angelic in Jodhaa Akbar. Have a look at her as she goes from fab to flab:

Ash makes 1st post-baby appearance at Riteish-Genelia's reception

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s wedding reception was a well-attended affair with a sizeable chunk of Bollywood packing into the confines of the hotel where it was held.

The indoor ambience was completely decorated in red, with red roses everywhere and the tables, chairs and drinking glasses set in red. The bash went on till well past midnight after which the newly married couple left for Riteish’s family home.

It was Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s (R) first public appearance since the birth of her daughter and she came in with her in-laws, Amitabh (L) and Jaya Bachchan (2R).

Expression of love lacking in Aishwarya's eyes: Italian author

Said to be India's face in Hollywood, Aishwarya Rai may have legions of fans across the world but she has failed to impress the author of The Last Legion.

Valerio Massimo Manfredi, the Italian historian and author of about 17 historical novels, said that the Bollywood star, who portrayed Mira in the film version of the book, was far away from what the character was written as.

Not just that, Manfredi added that the acting of Aishwarya – touted as India's International face – acted badly.

"My character of the leading lady was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids," Manfredi said.

However, Manfredi was all praise for Aishwarya Rai's eyes. But he regretted the lack of expression of love in them.

"She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different," Manfredi added.

The film tells the story of emperor Romulus Augustus' journey to Britain in search of loyal legionaires to take on the "barbarian" invaders. Besides Aishwarya, the film has Colin Firth and Sir Ben Kingsley in pivotal roles.

Manfredi was in India to launch the Indian editions of his Alexander trilogy, a series for which he is known the world over. The books, "Child of a Dream", "The Sands of Ammon" and "The Ends of the Earth" (Pan Macmillan) are historical interpretations of the conquerers' life painted on a canvas of facts and fiction. The trilogy has been translated in 34 languages in 55 countries.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan criticised for her poor acting skills

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who have been away from the limelight due to her ongoing motherhood phase has many big mouths around who would just speak ill against her talents. Recently, Italian archaeologist-historian, television presenter and novelistValerio Massimo Manfredi criticised Ash for her poor acting skills.

While talking to IANS, Manfredi, the author of The Last Legion said that the character that Aishwarya Rai played in the movie was completely different from what it was in the book. “My character of the leading lady was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids,” Manfredi told IANS.

Though he praises Ash's beautiful eyes, he said, "She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different. The editing was so much like a video game, so many passages were missing...I am not criticising”.

Look who has has some unflattering words for Aishwarya Rai!!

Italian historian and author of about 17 historical novels, Valerio Massimo Manfredi has a few unpleasant words for Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai.

For those who do not know, Aishwarya Rai along with Colin Firth and Ben Kingsley, acted in the film ‘The Last Legion’, which is adapted from Manfredi’s own book.

Talking to a news agency, Manfredi said, “My character of the leading lady was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids,” Manfredi is quoted to have told IANS.

In love with Aishwarya Rai’s eyes, Manfredi regretted the lack of expression of love in them.

“She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different,” Manfredi added.

“I have noticed that everybody who has not read the book liked the film and those who read the book did not like the movie. This is very usual because they are two different kinds of expression. While the book uses words, cinema uses images,”

Manfredi was in India to launch the Indian editions of his popular Alexander trilogy.

This Italian writer has an Aishwarya connection

The Taj Mahal, actress Aishwarya Rai and Alexander the Great bind famous Italian archaeologist-historian, television presenter and novelist Valerio Massimo Manfredi to India - a country whose heritage he finds iconic.

Manfredi is the author of "The Last Legion", a 2007 Hollywood production starring Colin Firth, Aishwarya and Ben Kingsley.

"My character of the leading lady (played by Aishwarya) was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids," Manfredi told IANS here.

The film tells the story of emperor Romulus Augustus' journey to Britain in search of loyal legionaires to take on the "barbarian" invaders. The writer ended up befriending Firth, could not get around to meeting Ben Kingsley and was struck by Aishwarya's eyes.

"She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different. The editing was so much like a video game, so many passages were missing...I am not criticising," Manfredi said.

Memories of "The Last Legion" make Manfredi introspective.

"I have noticed that everybody who has not read the book liked the film and those who read the book did not like the movie. This is very usual because they are two different kinds of expression. While the book uses words, cinema uses images," Manfredi said.

When a novel of "almost 500 pages has to be squeezed into a 90-page screenplay and then reduced to 50 on the computer screen, it becomes 1/10th of the original work", Manfredi said.

The writer was in India to launch the Indian editions of his Alexander trilogy, a series for which he is known the world over. The books, "Child of a Dream", "The Sands of Ammon" and "The Ends of the Earth" (Pan Macmillan) are historical interpretations of the conquerers' life painted on a canvas of facts and fiction. The trilogy has been translated in 34 languages in 55 countries.

Manfredi was also deeply moved by the Taj.

"I was here three years ago to shoot my programme for Italian television. It was a cultural programme about the Mughal empire. I loved the Taj Mahal. It was a masterpiece - very classic and very beautiful. The green gardens and the mausoleum are so imposing. It reminds me of the Renaissance...," Manfredi told IANS.

"It is an image that is almost an icon of India," he said.

He is the author of nearly 20 historical novels, several essays on history and archaeology and two screenplays, "The Inquiry" and "The Memoirs of the Hadrian". Another of his novels, "Tower of the First Born", has also been made into a movie.

"You must be prepared for a lot of cuts. Some are painful cuts but in the end it is a fanstastic experience. In my imagination, I had cast the characters in a different way...when you meet the people you realise they have their own flesh, expression and their body," Manfredi said.

But it is Alexander that lights up Manfredi's face. "He was the great because he was thinking great. Alexander went over the logic of the conqueror and the vanquished," Manfredi said.

Manfredi relies on his American wife to translate his books.

"I am in the seventh chapter of by new book. It is an epic set in the 1900s," the writer said. Manfredi is also working on a big project about India which "he will announce in a few months".

The writer is famous for his "route to the Trophy of the 10,000", a historical site associated with the march of an ancient Greek army of mercenaries near the Black Sea off Turkish coast. Manfredi had retraced the journey with a British archaeologist.
