Kareena has one again proved that she is a clear winner when it comes bagging the top most slot amongst female actors in Bollywood. Whether it is about being cast opposite most sought after actors or getting to work with prestigious banners and notable filmmakers, the actor is facing no difficulty in making the right career moves. Helping Kareena sustain fame and importance now is Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Kareena, who first grabbed Madhur Bhandarkar's “Heroine” when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan couldn’t take up the offer, has apparently signed Sanjay 's upcoming film “Ram Leela” with Ranveer Singh. But didn’t we all think Aishwarya was Bhansali's favourite actor? Looks like the filmmaker wants Ash to stay away from the limelight and enjoy motherhood and continue to be busy doting upon her daughter.
It is a fact that the two actors don’t get along well courtesy Abhishek-Aishwarya marriage. For the uninitiated, Karisma Kapoor was supposed to tie the knot with Abhishek Bachchan. But the engagement went kaput. When Kareena was chosen as Aishwarya's substitute in “Heroine”, Kareena didn’t take too long slam those who thought she got the offer because Ash rejected it. The actor was vocal about her thoughts and said that the film was initially offered to her and she wasn’t bothered about whom it was offered later.
With the number of filmmakers, who invariably chose Aishwarya as their lead actor, approaching Kareena Kapoor with the film offers, one is bound to think if the Kapoor lass has begun to replace Aish. So what if Sanjay have always expressed his keenness in working with Aishwarya, the actor’s post pregnancy status seemed to have changed his preference.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was spotted with daughter Aaradhya at Nice-Cote d'Azur international airport.
Cuddling her daughter Aaradhya, Aishwarya made her way to the departure terminal.
Indian media have been going frenetic to get a glimpse of the famous celebrity kid in Bollywood. But it looks like Hindustan Times has clinched the trophy. They have acquired series of exclusive pictures of Ash and her daughter leaving Cannes.
Ash made sure no one could take a sneak peak of her daughter. As she made her way to the terminal it took a jacket, a file and a stole to hide Aaradhya. The six-month-old baby was already covered from head to toe and facing her mother who tucked her away from the camera glare. Aaradhya nestled contentedly as Ash held her tight.
Comfortably bundled in a baby sling and mother's arm, Aaradhya was dressed in a white colour baby suit with a baby pink cap. Her accessory was a black and gold beads bracelet.
Aishwarya Rai's daughter Aaradhya has been accompanying her celebrity mother every time she travels abroad. But not a single photograph of her is out.
The fact that her name is Aaradhya Bachchan was kept a secret for almost five months after her birth. Only recently did Grandfather Amitabh Bachchan confirm the name.
Aishwarya attended the Cannes Film Festival this year with her daughter. Of course, she did not walk the red carpet cuddling Aaradhya but graced the red carpet with all her mommy charm.

The International media is shocked with the criticism Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is receiving for putting on weight post pregnancy. It is an irony that people from Hollywood think that she looks stunning after delivery and are using the best adjective possible to describe her beauty, while in her own country, she has been slammed for putting extra pounds on her body.
Here's what the International media has to say...
Daily Mail - She may have been criticised in her native India for not losing her baby weight fast enough, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked nothing short of dazzling at the AmfAR Cinema Against Aids gala in Cannes last night. Baby weight or not, the Bollywood actress, 38, lived up to her title of 'the worlds most beautiful woman' in a gold embroidered sari and co-ordinating tailored jacket with Mandarin collar. With her clever styling and clean make-up and hair, the former beauty queen successfully silenced those critical of her post pregnancy weight gain.
Comments left under the Daily Mail article were really overwhelming-
RH2012, London: It's been 18 years since she won Miss World and do you know what?... She still looks fantastic. Why are people so nasty?!!
Lisa Brook: My goodness, this is what breathtaking and beautiful looks like. Skinny is NOT cute.
Essex: People are so shallow!! Live and let others Live, at least she is a nursing her child and taking care of her as a mother should do. Her child is her first priority then the fans, she got that right!
Jason: i'd agree she looked pretty even as said 'fat', some women might be too thin, appeared unattractive, however, beauty is in the eyes of beholder.
Unfortunately, in India, Aishwarya Rai has been receiving more flak than compliments for her post delivery weight gain.
Type "Aishwarya Rai fat" on Google and you will be shocked to see the search results - It's over three million!
Not only this, a really nasty video clip called 'Aishwarya Rai's shocking weight gain' which had elephant sound effects in the background, has been seen more than 500,000 times. Many more videos of similar type have been posted, each video has viewing figures in the tens or hundreds of thousands.
Tongues began wagging after this video went viral on YouTube. One unkind fan has compared Aishwarya to Victoria Beckham, by saying Ash should lose weight as quickly as Victoria Beckham did after her four pregnancies. The other fan said, she is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit.
Shobhaa De defended Aishwarya and in an interview to New York Daily News, she said, “Aishwarya is like a goddess. She is held up as the ideal of beauty and so there is an expectation on her to look perfect at all times. The role models being held up are Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham, but our body frames are different? We have wider hips and curves? So this whole business of looking desperately skinny two weeks after giving birth is a western import.”
So, according to these people Aishwarya should stop focusing on her daughter and hit the gym instead. Well, It's high time to change our attitude towards women and motherhood. And Aishwarya, we have just one thing to tell you - We love you the way you are!!
The Bachchans have not released the pictures of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's daughter Aaradhya even after six months after her birth. They have struggled a lot to keep them away from the hands of media. But a leading Indian English daily has recently managed to click a couple of photos of the baby.
The English daily claims that it has unleashed the Aaradhya exclusive photos on the internet. These pictures have been snapped at the Nice-Cote d’Azur International airport, while she was returning home after visiting the Cannes Film Festival. The photos show Aishwarya Rai holding Aaradhya in her arms.
The picture is taken from a little distance and Aaradhya's face is not clear in it as Aishwarya is cuddling her. Aish has donned a black dress, while her daughter dressed in a pink baby suit and wearing a traditional bracelet with black and gold beads. The actress is protectively tucked in her arms to evade flashlights.
However, the photos of Aaradhya have been in great demand ever since her birth. Several international magazines approached the Bachchans and asked for rights for the pictures quoting 15 to 20 million dollars. But the Bachchans declined to sell them and they made it clear that they did not want to share them.

Kareena Kapoor first grabbed Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was unceremoniously dropped from the film. Now, the news is rife that Kareena has signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film Ram Leela with Ranveer Singh. Well, we wonder...wasn't Aishwarya Bhansali's favourite girl?
It's known to all that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor have not been the best of friends in Bollywood. There are ample stories of cat fights between the two beauties. When Kareena was chosen as Aishwarya's replacement in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, Kareena was quick enough to react and said that the film was first offered to her and she didn't care about whom it was offered first.
Many filmmakers who chose Aishwarya as their lead heroine have now begun to approach Kareena Kapoor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali have time and again expressed his liking for Aishwarya and has even declared many a time that he prefers to work with Aish than any other actresses. Blame it on her post pregnancy status or something else....Sanjay Leela Bhansali seemed to have changed his preference and Kareena is definitely the benefiter!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's post pregnancy weight seems to have troubled quite a few until now and sadly it continues to bother some even now. The former Miss World was subject to a lot of criticism for the same, but thankfully her appearance at Cannes 2012 has helped her in pacifying the international media to some extent.
Her B-Town colleagues have however supported her since day 1. Lara Dutta, Sonali Bendre and Sameera Reddy have already been quite vocal about their support to Ash, the latest actor to join the bandwagon is none other than Kajol.
When quizzed about Aishwarya and her post baby weight by a news daily, Kajol exclaimed, "It's stupid to have this conversation. Everyone has the right to their lives and to look the way they want to! Tomorrow I can put on 25 kilos... it's my choice, my body! She's at home taking care of her baby. "
A firm Kajol also added that it's okay to have that weight as long as it doesn't come in the way of Aishwarya's profession, "As long as it doesn't affect her work, I don't understand why it should be under discussion."
Well, Aishwarya must be really overwhelmed after receiving so much of support from her industry mates, who're all willing to fight it out with anyone who tries to talk about the actor. Recently, actor turned director Pooja Bhatt went to the extent of taking the fight to Twitter, where she tweeted, "Find this debate about Aishwarya Rai's weight inane. She is a gorgeous woman period. All the ugly people being malicious should take a hike!"
With so many people walking in line with Aishwarya, the actor should just relax and let the world be, the way she's done till now.
Actress Kajol has defended Aishwarya Rai Bachchan over her post-pregnancy weight gain.
Bachchan faced criticism from the international media for her failure to shed weight following the birth of her daughter Aradhya.
According to Bollywood Samachar, My Name is Khan actress Kajol, who took a break from films after giving birth to her second child, responded to questions regarding Bachchan's weight gain by saying: "It's stupid to have this conversation! Everyone has the right to their lives and to look the way they want to. Tomorrow, I can put on 25 kilos… it's my own choice, my body!
"She is at home taking care of her baby. As long as it doesn't affect her work, I don't understand why it should be under discussion."
Actress Sonali Bendre also recently came to the Dhoom 2 star's defence, saying: "People are being too harsh on her. She has just had a baby. She deserves a break. Please let her be. Let her enjoy this happy phase of her life."
Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, who gave birth to a daughter in January, condemned the media for criticising Bachchan's appearance.
You have no right to pass comments on women like Aishwarya, who have gone through a hard time during pregnancy," said Dutta. "I stayed away from putting on weight because of yoga during my pregnancy, but that's my personal choice which may not be the case with Ash.
"So, please refrain from getting judgemental. Respect the private life of Ash as a mother, who has every right to look however she wants."
Actor and director Pooja Bhatt spoke out on Twitter about the controversy regarding Bachchan's weight gain, saying: "Find this debate about Aishwarya Rai's weight inane. She is a gorgeous woman period. All the ugly people being malicious should take a hike!"
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a daughter on November 16, 2012.
The 38-year-old actress made her first public appearance since giving birth at the Cannes film festival.

Yesterday, we asked you to vote for your favourite out of the four outfits Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore at Cannes this year.
You chose the Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla designed gold and cream embellished sari, which came up trumps with 43.33% of the votes. (Not the outfit we would have chosen ourselves! Read: Ash covers up in designer sari)
At a distant second was the finale dress Ash wore on the red carpet - 21.66% of the votes went to the figure accentuating Elie Saab gown. (We loved it too. Read: Gutsy Ash wears clingy dress with a smile)
Surprisingly, the Angelo Katsapis maxidress, which had the fashion critics fawning, received only 19.91% of the votes. (We gave it a thumbs up. Read: Dress, not sari for Ash's first day out)
The floral Roberto Cavalli kaftan had only 15.1% of viewers impressed. (But we liked it. Read: Ash redeems self in Cavalli kaftan)
So, Ash's traditional look seems to have been the most popular on the Cannes red carpet this year. And, while we beg to differ, we do think that whatever she wears, Ash is always worth it. (Timeline: Ash red carpet appearances at Cannes from 2002-2012)

Famous Hollywood actress, Julia Roberts once said that Aishwarya Rai is the world's most beautiful woman. But she is not the only one from Hollywood who admires her. Actor Alec Baldwin recently said that he is a very big fan of Aishwarya Rai.
A source close to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan told a leading daily, “Ash and Alec came together to the interview at the Le Grand Journal, Canal Studio - a show hosted by Gilles Jacob (President of the Cannes Film Festival). When Alec met Ash, he told Jacob that he was a very big fan of Aishwarya and added that the Hollywood fraternity is crazy about her."
The source further added, "After the show got over, Alec even introduced her to his fiance, Hilaria Thomas, who was also present there and also kept saying Ash was more prettier after her baby and congratulated her again and again. He also asked if she had started working and when she does, she should come to Hollywood and do films. Ash felt highly flattered and said she would definitely give it a thought later but right now she was too busy bringing up her baby."
Undoubtedly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is loving every little moment of her motherhood!
Bollywood actress Kajol has supported Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her post pregnancy weight gain. Kajol said that Aishwarya Rai has the right to look the way she wants to.
In an interview to a leading daily, Kajol said, "It's stupid to have this conversation. Everyone has the right to their lives and to look the way they want to! Tomorrow I can put on 25 kilos... it's my choice, my body! She's at home taking care of her baby."

Kajol is not the only one to defend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In the past, Sonali Bendre, Lara Dutta, Sameera Reddy and Pooja Bhatt also came in support of Aishwarya and slammed media for criticising her.
Well, Aishwarya Rai must be very happy to receive so much of support from her Bollywood friends!

Emerald-eyed Bollyood goddess Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and American beauty Reese Witherspoon show off their magnificent feminine curves on Cannes' closing weekend.
New mum Aishwarya set the flashbulbs blazing when she proudly displayed her post-baby figure in an embellished blue gown from Elie Saab.
eanwhile, blooming Reese was the epitome of pregnancy glamour.
The blonde actress – who is expecting her third child – looked elegant in a cascading blue gown and dazzling accessories.
Aishwarya, 38, welcomed her daughter Aaradhya with husband Abhishek Bachchan in November.
Her appearance in the French Riviera as one of the faces of L'Oreal has sparked debate about her new, fuller figure.
But the Bollywood icon insists she is comfortable in her own skin and embraces life in the limelight whatever people think.
"It's really been almost a part of every day for so many years now that I have never let it define me - it's just a moment to enjoy," she said at the Cosmopolis premiere.
And the actress spoke of her love for her daughter, saying: "Aaradhya is here and she is my angel, I mean, it's just absolutely blissful."
Completing the glamorous line up of A-list ladies was Kristen Stewart, whose beau Robert Pattison stars in Cosmopolis.
With her leading man busy signing autographs for thrilled fans, scarlet siren Kristen was escorted by Sienna Miller 's partner Tom Sturridge.
While the movie stars wowed on the famous Cannes walkway, the festival's judges awarded French language film Amour the top prize.
The emotional tale of a Parisian husband caring for his dying wife beat off stiff competition to snare the Palme d'Or.
It is the second triumph for the film's Austrian director, Michael Haneke.
It looks like Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is really out to prove her critics wrong as she glammed up her way to Cannes Film Festival. If people were impressed by her white and gold sari on the first day, what more with the midnight blue Elie Saab gown she wore during her second day at Cannes!
Her second outfit is from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture collection which featured round neck and pleating on the side. Adding elegance to the whole ensemble are the long sheer sleeves and very generous train. The mother of one literally sparkled because of the crystal embellishments all over the gown.
Unlike the sari she wore the day before, this Elie Saab gown showed off Aish’s figure and again, I must say she’s not fat! She just became a bit more curvaceous but in the right places. Aish paired up the midnight-blue Elie Saab gown with a pair of strappy heels and silvery clutch.
With her wavy hair hanging down her shoulders, smoky eyes and glossy lips, Aishwarya Rai is, without a doubt, still one of the most beautiful women in the world!

We have witnessed so far how the world have been slamming actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her post pregnancy flab. But, the negative and harsh comments doesn't seem to bother Ash in anyway. Aishwarya, who looked stunning at the Cannes, spoke to the mediapersons about her much-hyped weight gain issue.
Aishwarya admitted that she is happy with her weight. In fact, she is absolutely fine with her body and doesn't prefer to endorse size zero. "I am a mother. This can happen and it has happened with me and it's fine (weight gain). I've never been the one who endorse size zero anyway," Ash told the media.
This is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 11th appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya, who is travelling with Aaradhya this year, is spending sleepless nights because of her little daughter. But Aishwarya is not complaining about it. In fact, she is enjoying every moment of her motherhood.

Aishwarya Rai channeled her beauty in a sheer Elie Saab gown at the premiere of Cosmopolis during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival Friday, May 25.
For her final appearance as L'Oréal Paris brand ambassador at this year's festival, the 38-year-old new mama opted for a bold red carpet look that downplayed her nursing mother curves without attempting to hide them, focusing instead on her mesmerizing beauty and grace.
It was a proud look that she pulled off with immense grace.
Aishwarya's midnight blue embellished gown was from Elie Saab's Fall 2011 Couture collection. It featured long sleeves, round neck, pleating on the side and a generous train. The gown was cinched at the waist with a slim black belt adorned with a floral accent.
She accessorized with strappy heels, stud earrings and a light blue box clutch.
Her side swept wavy hair left down looked a bolder chestnut for this appearance.
Smokey blue eyes, pink blush, glossy plum lips and a manicure matching the dress color rounded off the look.

Aishwarya Rai has been slammed by her country for not shedding her baby weight but the star proved to everyone she can still look fabulous at the Cannes premiere of Cosmopolis Thursday night.
The 38-year-old, who gave birth to her first daughter 6 months ago, graced the red carpet in an embroidered traditional sari designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
Flawlessly faced with her hair in a sophisticated updo, the actress lived up to her beauty hype.
Earlier this month Aishwarya was photographed from an unflattering angle and fans from her homeland labelled the snaps “shocking” and pointed out her “double chin.”
In one video posted on YouTube dubbed ‘Aishwarya Rai’s Shocking Weight Gain,’ there are sound bites of an elephant in the background.
The description of the video states, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan post her pregnancy seems to be looking rather plump instead of losing some of her flab after the baby's delivery.
“The Bachchan bahu seems to be taking motherhood very seriously and seems to have shockingly put on at least five to six kilos.”

Alright, you have to make the allowance that the lady hasn’t whittled away the extra post-pregnancy kilos and then look at her from a fresh perspective. Try that and you can’t help but nod an approval for Aishwarya Rai as the lady put her most glam foot forward on the red carpet in Cannes 2012.
Those who thought that the traditional Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla sari with an overlong blouse Ash wore for amFar event was rather regressive for a fashion outing on the Cannes red carpet can have their answer now. Aishwarya Rai stunned everyone with her glamourous appearance on the red carpet in a dark grey Elie Saab gown at Palais des Festivals on May 25 for the premiere of the movie ‘Cosmopolis’.
The gown is said to be part of Elie Saab’s Fall 2011 couture collection.
Not conscious of her weight, Aishwarya Rai walked the red carpet confidently, waved at the media and even blew kisses to the photographers, perhaps as a subtle gesture of mocking her critics who have been tom-tomming about some of her recent fashion faux pas rather too much.
Aishwarya Rai is in Cannes along with her daughter Aaradhya. However, she hasn’t yet been clicked with the little one so far.
The surprises just keep coming. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has worn four outfits over two days at Cannes so far, and her latest appearance has us on our feet, cheering.
Not because she's silenced critics by cutting a svelte figure on the red carpet. That's a figure far from svelte. But because she's shown that she's not going to be obliged to look thin for other people.(Read: Dress, not sari, for Ash's first day out in Cannes)
In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Ash said that she has never advocated being size zero. And this dark grey gown by Elie Saab sends exactly that message. The modest neckline and long sleeves notwithstanding, this dress is perhaps Ash's most adventurous yet, and very probably it will be the dress she will be remembered for.(Timeline: Ash's red carpet appearances at Cannes)
For it takes a great amount of courage to blithely wear any dress that clings to every curve of your plus size, post-baby figure. And Aishwarya's smile says it all.
Watching Aishwarya's weight has become something of a national obsession, and that smile tells us that she just doesn't care. Hurrah.

Her dress had a V neckline and high V back with side cutouts and long bell sleeves. The gathered waist was fastened with a black ribbon. The volume of the dress enables freedom of movement while the fastened waist gave a shape to her body.
For her hair, Aishwarya styled herself in luscious waves with middle parting. She had a natural look makeup that included matte pink lip stain and a swipe of pink blush. A green manicure set off the colour of her dress.
However, this is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 11th appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. She travelled to the fest with her daughter Aaradhya and mother Brindya. She had donned an Angelo Katsapis dress on the day one at the Cannes Film Festival.

Finally the wait is over! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is representing a French cosmetic brand at the Cannes Film Festival, was spotted at the French Riviera, on Thursday. And trust us, though there was much, brouhaha over her weight, the former beauty queen looked splendid in her first sighting and surprisingly, there was no unwanted cellulite, in sight!
Aishwarya wore a black and white Angelo Katsapis maxi dress for the Media Call at Cannes. The silhouette of the dress flattered the 'Bachchan Bahu's frame and opting for the flowy garment, to cover her post partum figure, was a certainly a very smart move by her. The diva rounded up her look with beautifully blow-dried hair, minimum make-up, flat sandals and almost no accessories.
For her various red carpet appearances at Cannes this year, Aishwarya will go all traditional and will slip into designs by Indian couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

The bash was filled with stars from all over. The bash was held to raise money for AIDS research, at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.
Aishwarya looked awesome and definitely lived up to her fans expectations.
The second look of the beauty queen was when she attended a media call, in a breezy Angelo Katsapis shaded dress. She yet again looked stunning. Perfect choice for a bright sunny day.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's post delivery weight has been a matter of hot discussion among the media since the time she appeared before the media (soon after her delivery). Since then, every now and then we have seen pictures of Aishwarya with headlines that went 'Aishwarya spotted with a double chin,' and so on...
Though actresses like Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre and Pooja Bhatt have supported Aishwarya's weight gain, a certain section of the media and many of her fans cannot seem to forgive her for gaining weight post delivery!
Speaking about the recent uproar that Aishwarya Rai's weight gain has made, columnist Shobha De told Daily News, “Aishwarya is like a goddess. She is held up as the ideal of beauty and so there is an expectation on her to look perfect at all times." The writer further added that this concept of lean and thin celebrity has come from western culture since Hollywood actresses like Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham spotted a skinny look barely two weeks after delivery.
It's now being said that Aishwarya will sport a desi look at Cannes and will wear sarees and other Indian outfits at the highly prestigious festival. When Aishwarya finally walks the red carpet at the Cannes and receives rave reviews from the western media about her looks, it would be like a 'slap on the face' on people in her country who has 'strange' expectations from the female celebrities.

We all know that like every year, this time too, the gorgeous beauty, Aishwarya Rai will be at the Cannes film festival. Now the question is what will Ash wear to the festival, this year???
The actress will walk the red carpet on 24 May and 25 May. Buzz has it that Ash will be decked up in a Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla sari.
She will wear a cream chikankari sari for the L’Oreal Paris-amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner.
If news reports are to be gone by, A pastel wardrobe has been lined up for the actress her, including an off-white chikankari sari, fluid kurtas and one in the anarkali style. As soon as she lands in Cannes on May 23, a special wardrobe session will be conducted, with the New York-based designer Michael Angel.
If what we heard is rught, then Ash’s hubby, actor Abhishek Bachchan will not be accompanying the beauty queen and their daughter as he is busy dubbing for his next project.
Wednesday, May 23, 2012
Unlike previous years, this year Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is more concern about her baby Aaradhya rather than what she is doing to wear at Cannes. Recently, Ash was very much in news for her weighty issue and there has been a huge debate about her post baby flab. Now from the weight issue, the discussion turned to her style. Whenever Aishwarya walks the red carpet, her outfit made national news. She always received huge accolades for her style and statement. The biggest concern now is what the former beauty queen is going to wear at Cannes this year.
So here is the news. The new mom Aishwarya has chosen designer Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla’s designer sari to enhance her beauty. Abu-Sandeep is Jaya Bachchan’s favorite and the designer duo will style Ash at Cannes.
The actress is expected in Cannes on May 24 and May 25. Apart from walking the red carpet, she will attend the L'Oreal Paris-amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner.
Aishwarya will go traditional at Cannes and she might be seen in off-white chikankari sari or fluid kurtas and one in the anarkali style. On arriving in Cannes on May 23, she will have a wardrobe session with New York-based designer Michael Angel and return to India on May 26.
Aishwarya is playing a doting motherto her six months old daughter Aaradhya but she at the same time is a tur professional and cannot let the Cannes film festival go as she has been associated with Cannes and L’Oreal for 11 long years.

After a fashion fabulous 2011 in Armani and Elie Saab, Aishwarya will wear traditional Indian outfits at Cannes this year.
We already know she's not wearing A-list favourite Sabyasachi. But reports suggest Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, the designer duo favoured by Jaya Bachchan, will be styling Ash, on the red carpet and off it.
The actress, expected in Cannes on May 24 and May 25 to attend the L'Oreal Paris-amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner, has earned as much flak as praise for her previous red carpet outfits in the 10 years that she has been on it, since 2002.
This year, her post-pregnancy weight has been the focus of much debate and Ash can expect some serious scrutiny as she makes her appearances on the Croisette.
Ash's Cannes style files
Ash will reportedly opt for Indian wear, because she feels India has so much to offer in terms of exquisite handcrafted textiles.
Unconfirmed reports have a pastel wardrobe lined up for her, including an an off-white chikankari sari, fluid kurtas and one in the anarkali style. On her arrival in Cannes on May 23, she will have a wardrobe session with New York-based designer Michael Angel and return to India on May 26.
Michael Angel has already had one hit at Cannes with Frieda Pinto who took red carpet honours in his pale pink gown with a beaded bodice.
Abhishek Bachchan will not be accompanying Ash and five-month old daughter Aaradhya to Cannes since he is busy dubbing for his next project.
After Cannes, Ash will jet-set off to Monaco for the 17th Bal de l'Ete, scheduled from June 22 through June 24.
The theme of this event is Princess of Rajasthan, where she will likely slip into elaborate Indian wear.

The Bollywood stars are privileged to travel the globe, thanks to their film shoots. Surprisingly, their wax statues at the world's most prestigious wax museum Madame Tassauds, too is all set to go on a new journey.
It has been planned that the statues of Bollywood biggies, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan will be sent for a globe tour in different cities. As per reports, they will be travelling Blackpool, England, Hong Kong, Bangkok and other sites in Europe and the US.
Though it is a matter of pride for all the Bollywood lovers, we have a dissappointing news for the Salman Khan fans. If reports are to be believed, Salman, who also has a statue in London alongside, has not been invited to be a part of the tour. Though the reason remains unknown, our imaginations and thoughts doesn't stop from flying high.

Aishwarya Rai is expected to be in Cannes film festival on May 24-25. And there is a strong buzz that Aishwarya is planning to wear Indian outfits on the red carpet.
According to a leading daily, Ash will be donning a saree and churidar kurtas designed by famous duo Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla.
A source close to Aishwarya said, “She has decided to ditch designer gowns and go completely Indian at Cannes. She will walk the red carpet on May 24 and 25. While Abu-Sandeep, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Shahab Durazi were shortlisted to provide outfits, she finally decided to stick to Abu-Sandeep. The sari is off-white with chikankari work and antique gold embroidery. The churidar-kurtas are in beige and cream and classic Abu-Sandeep. Instead of choosing her usual dark colours, Ash has gone pastel this year.”
The source further added, “The kurtas are long and flowy, with one in the anarkali style. Both have heavy zari and gold work on them. Ash feels that India has so much to offer in terms of beautiful, handcrafted ensembles, so why not show them off to the world?”
Abhishek Bachchan will not accompany Ash and daughter Aaradhya at Cannes as he is busy dubbing for his next release.
It may sound cliché, but it’s a fact that Indian women look gorgeous in a saree and we are very sure Aishwarya Rai too will look mesmerising in an Indian attire.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum has launched a world tour of its Bollywood superstar collection. Wax statues of four superstars - Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor will be travelling to Hong Kong and Bangkok among other world cities.
At Hong Kong, the statues will be showcased in the museum's World Premiere Zone alongside the wax figure of Amitabh. Since Big B already has a wax statue in Hong Kong, his statue at London won't be travelling to the Asian city. The statues will be on display in Hong Kong till July 19, after which they will travel to a different city.
However, surprisingly Hindi cinema's most popular icon, Salman Khan, is not a part of the tour. The wax figure of Madhuri Dixit, which was launched recently, also does not figure in the list. Officials at the museum's Hong Kong branch are bullish about the visiting Bollywood carnival, but Madame Tussauds has extended no official reason for excluding Salman's and Madhuri's statue.
General manager of Madame Tussauds, Hong Kong, Kelly Mak said "The decision to bring Bollywood wax figures to the city was done keeping in mind the increasing inflow of Indian tourists around this time of the year."

Actress Sonali Bendre, who is a very close to the Bachchan family, feels that people are being too harsh on Aishwarya Rai. Ash has gained oodles of weight after giving birth to her daughter Aaradhya last year. Her weight gain has become the hot topic of the nation.
Talking to the media during a promotional event at Ahmedabad, Sonali said that Aishwarya is a new mother, hence she deserves a break. She even feels that people are being too harsh on her. When asked about the Bollywood moms, who are making their unsuccessful comeback in the industry, Sonali said, "In the past a number of actors have succeeded even when they had babies. The script is the winner... everything else is secondary."
Sonali is the mother of a 7-year-old son and is in no hurry to take up projects. The actress admits that she is currently in a very happy state and wouldn't take up any project in the near future, unless it takes her to a happier space.
Actor-Director Pooja Bhatt has criticised the public for creating a fuss over Aishwarya Rai's post pregnancy weight.
Pooja Bhatt supported Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and wrote on Twitter, "Find this debate about Aishwarya Rai's weight inane. She is a gorgeous woman period. All the ugly people being malicious should take a hike!"
Celebs like Lara Dutta and Sonali Bendre also defended Aishwarya Rai.
Lara Dutta told a leading daily, “You have no rights to pass comments on a woman like Aishwarya, who has gone through a hard time during pregnancy. I didn’t put on weight because I practiced yoga during my pregnancy, but that’s a personal choice which may not be the case with Ash. So, please refrain from getting judgmental.”
Sonali Bendre seconds Lara Dutta. She said, “People are being too harsh on Aishwarya. She has just had a baby. She deserves a break. Please let her be. Let her enjoy this happy phase of her life.”
It is quite normal for a woman to gain weight after pregnancy, but we really don't understand the hue and cry surrounding Aishwarya's 'weighty' appearance.
It looks like Aishwarya Rai is paying the price for being a star!

Bollywood star actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been drawing a lot of flak in recent times for the weight gained following her pregnancy and giving birth to her first child. More specifically, she has been heavily criticised for not losing that weight. Her recent wardrobe choices for public events suggests a certain implicit admission of that weight as well as a subtle statement suggesting, quite rightly may we add, she doesn't care too much for the comments.
The actress has been seen wearing a loose-fitting anarkali (a traditional north Indian outfit) with a V-cut neck and heavily accessorising her neck; all signs there has been weight gain, which is a natural fallout of pregnancy. The trend goes back, in the public eye at least, to the visit of American talk show queen Oprah Winfrey to the Bachchans' residence in Mumbai, India, where Winfrey, the new mother and her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, were seen leaving the house - Bachchan and Winfrey were both helping Aishwarya down the steps... and she was wearing an anarkali suit.
The actress was spotted wearing a green and blue Manish Malhotra-designed anarkali for the wedding of fellow actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza, with just a peck of sindoor (a traditional Indian accessory) on her head. She was in an anarkali for the 2012 Femina Awards too.
As the storm of criticism increased, there were rumours Aishwarya would skip attending the 2012 Cannes Film Festival (she is otherwise a regular at the famous event). However, those were dismissed by the actress herself, who, according to an earlier IBTimes UK report, said she would go to France as planned.
The criticism the actress has faced has, fortunately, drawn her supporters to the fore. A second IBTimes UK report quoted several Indian celebrities - actors and designers - as defending Aishwarya, who has been quoted in multiple reports as saying she was enjoying being a mother and did not want to concentrate on anything else.
"I think everyone expects a little too much from Ash. She is human after all. The whole concept of 'Yummy Mummy' is a western phenomenon. It's not Indian or natural," Indian designer Asmita Marwa told Celebs Gather.

Time magazine has ranked Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2002 film Devdas eighth among the ten greatest movies of the millennium with "WALL.E" at the top and "The Artist" in the tenth spot. It described Shahrukh Khan as an "all-world charismatist" and Madhuri Dixit a "a hot number who danced flamencos on men's libidos".
"A year after 'Moulin Rouge!' had its world premiere at Cannes, another visually intoxicating musical opened at the festival, introducing sang-and-danced Bollywood dramas to the international culturati," it said of the film starring Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit.
"Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's 1901 novel inspired at least a half-dozen film versions before this one - in its time, the priciest movie in Indian history (at about $10.6 million)," the prestigious US news magazine noted.
Time describes Shahrukh Khan as an "all-world charismatist" and Madhuri Dixit, as "a hot number who had danced flamenco on men's libidos for a decade or so before appearing in this worldly-wise role" of a prostitute.
"The piece is played with such commitment that the tritest plot twists seem worth believing - and dancing to, in nine nifty production numbers. But the fervid emotion is what makes the thing sing," it said.
"Beyond that, Devdas is a visual ravishment, with sumptuous sets, fabulous frocks and beautiful people to fill them; it has a grandeur the old Hollywood moguls would have loved," Time gushes.
"From Toy Story in 1995 to Toy Story 3 in 2010, John Lasseter's Pixar animation house produced 11 features, all winners - and a few the very best films of their year," the Time said picking "the studio's biggest hit" Andrew Stanton's "WALL.E" for the top spot.
The top ten films made since the year 2000:
1. WALL.E, 2008
2. The Lord of the Rings, 2001-03
3. Avatar, 2009
4. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, 2000
5. The White Ribbon, 2009
6. The Hurt Locker, 2009
7. Synecdoche, New York, 2008
8. Devdas, 2002
9. Moulin Rouge!, 2001
10. The Artist, 2011

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has shot down rumours that he is designing Aishwarya Rai's wardrobe for the Cannes red carpet. "I don't know from where this news is coming. I am not styling Aishwarya for Cannes red carpet," Mukherjee told IANS.

By now, we all know that anything and almost everything to do with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is sure to hit the headlines! While Aishwarya is sure to walk the red carpet this year at the Cannes film festival (with or without her daughter), all eyes will be on Aish's attire, since the clothes she wore in the past, especially at the Cannes have always been a focal point of discussion.
Though Aishwarya Rai Bachchan doesn't seem to worry about having put on weight post delivery, the entire nation is very concerned about what the beautiful actress will wear at the Cannes! While there is no doubt that what Aishwarya wears at the Cannes will be discussed in length for days to come, we cannot help but empathise with the beautiful actress who seem to have readily accepted the criticisms that keep coming her way.
Whether Aishwarya will be able to successfully hide her post pregnancy bulge or not, will be observed in minute detail! What's more, if she were to wear a loose designer dress, that too might be dissected and bisected to the core, conveniently forgetting that Aishwarya will be representing her country for the 11th time at the Cannes film festival. Do not forget guys that this is one of the biggest honour for the country!
If the entire world finds Aishwarya Rai Bachchan worthy of walking the carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, shouldn't we support her as well? Will Aish be targeted for her weight and dressing style at the Cannes this year as well?

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered her child just seven months ago but has been scorned for not having lost the baby weight yet.
The Bollywood singer is well known for her beauty, and since an image of her with her newborn revealed a double-chin, Rai has been slammed in her native India.
Many people are complaining that the 38-year-old has not returned to her pre-pregnancy weight as fast as stars such as Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham did following the delivery of their children.
Online, comments have flooded entertainment and film sites revealing an outpouring of discontent with Rai's image.
One unkind fan wrote, "She is a Bollywood actress it is her duty to look good and fit."
Show business columnist Shobhaa De attempted to rationalize Rai's fan's outrage while speaking to New York Daily News.
"Aishwarya is like a goddess," said the columnist. "She is help up as the ideal of beauty and so there is an expectation on her to look perfect at all times."
Adding that every woman is different, De said, "The role models being held up are Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham, but our body frames are different- we have wider hips and curves- so this whole business of looking desperately skinny two weeks after giving birth is a western import."
The harsh criticism of the star has spurred debate in the country. In response to the comments, many people have risen in defense of the new mother.
"She is a real woman looking after a baby," wrote one fan, quoted by Yahoo News. "Not the Western belief of expecting people in the spot light to lose all weight in [one] month. If she dieted what will happen to the baby's diet."
Another fan wrote, "Kudos to you Aish for keeping it real and letting your baby have all the bonding and attention she needs with you. Enjoy your life."
Also, Rai has replied to the criticism of her weight, saying she is simply "enjoying motherhood."
The Bollywood star is slated to appear at the Cannes Film Festival next week, spurring speculation over how she will look.

Ever since the photograph of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who gave birth seven months ago, with double chin appeared, it has sparked outrage. Former Miss World and Bollywood star Aishwarya has been criticised by followers who suggest she should have lost her baby weight following the birth of her daughter.
Since the birth of her daughter in November last year, Aishwarya has been open about the fact that she is in no hurry to lose the few extra pounds she gained during her pregnancy. The actress defended her choice, saying she wanted simply to ‘enjoy motherhood.’
But with the star, who married Abhishek Bachchan, tipped for her 10th appearance at Cannes, furious speculation is mounting as to how she will look.
Commentators have been unkind, lambasting the star for letting her fans down. Many have gone a step further, suggesting the star has a ‘duty’ to her fans to regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
One website posted a video of the star looking less than her usual svelte self, flicking between photographs of her pre-birth, and photos now. Called ‘Aishwarya Rai’s shocking weight gain’, the clip, which came accompanied by elephant sound effects, has been seen more than 500,000 times.
Dozens of similar videos have been posted, each with viewing figures in the tens or hundreds of thousands. Comments left after the video proves that many of those watching have little sympathy for Aishwarya.
“She is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit,” the Daily Mail quoted one comment.
“She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery,” another said.
It has opened up a debate in the country, and beyond, about the attitudes held towards women in the public eye. Some unkind fans have compared Aishwarya to Victoria Beckham, saying she should lose weight as quickly as Victoria did after her four pregnancies.
“Aishwarya is like a goddess,” said show business columnist Shobhaa De in the New York Daily News by way of explanation.
“She is held up as the ideal of beauty and so there is an expectation on her to look perfect at all times. The role models being held up are Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham, but our body frames are different – we have wider hips and curves – so this whole business of looking desperately skinny two weeks after giving birth is a western import,” she said.
Cinema professor Shohini Ghosh added that women in India were up against an almost impossible task.
“There is a glorification of motherhood in India and Indian cinema," he told the paper.
“But people are confused because they don’t know whether to glorify Aishwarya in her new motherhood or lament that she is not looking like a runway model,” he said.
Some, however, have come out in defence of the star, saying that she, like any new mother, should be focusing on her infant, not her diet.
“She is a real women looking after a baby. We should be concern for her health and happiness especially if she is nursing the baby. Not the Western belief of expecting people in the spot light to lose all weight in month. If she? dieted what will happen to the baby’s diet,” one said.
“That’s because Ash is not one of those selfish ones who puts the focus on their bodies instead of their babies, which makes them moody and ineffective as parents,” another said.
“Kudos to you Ash for keeping it real and letting your baby have all the bonding and attention she needs with you. Enjoy your life,” another added.

The former Miss World and Bollywood starlet is getting an earful from her Indian fans over her post-natal weight. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, famously touted by Julia Roberts as the “world’s most beautiful woman,” was once the most admired and revered star in all of India. But such fame has not recently been a blessing for the 38-year-old new mother.
In 2007, Bachchan married Abhishek Bachhan, the son of famous Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. She recently gave birth to her first child and the press and public have been uniformly unkind about the change in her appearance. Some have even gone as far as to call her a traitor to her fans for not fulfilling her duty to be beautiful.
One site posted a video of the star carrying a few extra pounds with elephant sounds in the background. The clip, titled “Aishwarya Rai’s Shocking Weight Gain,” has been viewed more than 500,000 times.
The overwhelming negative response to Bachchan’s weight gain has opened up a debate in India about cultural attitudes towards celebrities and women in particular.
What do you think? Does Bachchan have a right to look however she wants? Or does she have some implicit obligation to her fans to get back into performance shape after giving birth?

To be or not to be a yummy mummy? That is the question. The post-pregnancy frames of a new mother played up by the media recently triggered a tide of tweets and comments across cyber media. All because the mom in question was model-turned-actor and ‘First Bahu of Bollywood' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. And also because these pictures hadn't passed through the customary visual vetting that is the hallmark of celebrity brand-building and public imaging: airbrushing.
Dripping double chin and chubby cheeks, the un-brushed pictures of the actress, taken at an event hosted by industrialist Mukesh Ambani at his Mumbai residence, gave a society obsessed with celebrities another talking point: flab and famous moms. That a non-issue such as the post-pregnancy frame of a famous star, captured on prying television cameras or Blackberrys, snowballed into a social media debate is in itself a comment on our collective obsession with glitterati.
In a celebrity-addicted culture-scape where a significant amount of column space and TV footage has already been devoted to speculation over the actress's daughter (nicknamed Beti B) — her christening, whether she'll appear on Oprah Winfrey's show with her parents, and where fake Beti B Twitter accounts are bombarding cyberspace, it's no surprise that much of Internet India turned into Incredulous India — eyeballs popping out as people posted animated tweets about Aishwarya.
Here's a sample of what's making the rounds online: “She is a Bollywood actress and being a part of showbiz it is her duty to look good and fit. Till now she has been praised for her beauty, so it is only fair that she should also be criticised if she is not able to live up to it. She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery! She needs to lose that weight... it's been close to 5 months already!”
‘Yummy mummy' test
The merits and demerits of the cyber discourse are another story. But the big, fat question here is: Why such a furore and frenzy over the figure of a star mom? Is Aishwarya anatomically any different from a regular new mother, who piles on the pounds post delivery?
Says Nancy Sahni, a Chandigarh-based nutrition and wellness expert, “The reason there has been such a noise about Aishwarya's post-delivery flab is that as a public icon she is expected to be a role model for ordinary mothers. While a weight gain of 8-12 kilos is considered normal post delivery, in the actress's case it's been in excess of the normal increase, which is surprising considering stars have personal trainers, nutritionists and home gyms to keep in shape. Age may have something to do with it, since Aishwarya is in her late 30s.”
But is the new-age concept of ‘yummy mummy' healthy?
Nancy sees it as a matter of self-image and social perception. She says, “Today, if you go to your child's school you find every other mom looking slim and trim, so it's got to do with a greater awareness about fitness. As long as young mothers shed their pregnancy pounds through exercise and balanced, but controlled, dieting, and not through fad diets, it is definitely a healthy thing.”
What about any long-term consequences of shedding the post-baby bulge quickly? Mridula Wattas, senior dietician at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, says, “The nutritional requirements of lactating mothers increase, with an additional intake of 600-700 KCal needed. Though crash dieting is not advised, especially during lactation, a mineral- and vitamin-rich diet should be preferred to the popularly used fatty, ghee-laden post-pregnancy foods such as panjeeri. For instance, it is better to have roasted panjeeri, with lots of dry fruits, instead of a ghee-rich one.”
Advising against any drastic calorie drop in a new mother's diet, Nancy says, “Gradual loss of the extra kilos is better than sudden slimming among lactating mothers, otherwise in the long term it leads to side-effects like brittle bones, anaemia and early wrinkling of the skin.”
Media's double game
Coming back to Aishwarya, the public storm over her weight gain smacks of irony. The media first feeds it glossy and glamorous images of yummy mummies. The new-age template of mommyhood is mostly Hollywood-inspired, courtesy flab-free mums such as Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and Victoria Beckham. Even in Bollywood, when a Shilpa Shetty or Lara Dutta or Malaika Arora Khan aspire for a Jolie- or Beckham-like image of hot moms, they reinforce that image for the average new-age Indian mum.
And, of course, the very media that plant these airbrushed, Photoshopped images in the public psyche are also the ones that ruthlessly “expose” those who do not conform to them. In turn, an audience fed on ‘Botoxed' benchmarks of beauty becomes unsparing of those who do not live up to media-manufactured collages of cellulite-free celebrityhood.
When Kareena Kapoor turned brand ambassador for Size Zero in India, she became the new poster girl of not just the film fraternity but also an entire generation of wannabe-Kareenas. But the moment she stepped away from this stereotype, everyone went into overdrive to cut an overweight Kareena to size by splashing pictures of her journey from Size Zero to Size Six.
Peddling private lives
A generation ago, when Bollywood was ruled by actresses such as Waheeda Rehman, Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan — who accomplished their childbearing and rearing in an era relatively free of the paparazzi's pixellated peddling of the private lives of the glitterati — calorie-controlled motherhood was hardly the public obsession it has become today. Where Jaya Bachchan may have hardly invited media interest or fan frenzy over any addition to her anatomy in the wake of childbearing, her bahu's (daughter-in-law) baby bulge and post-delivery pounds have turned into a virtual national discourse and mega media moment.
Is this a gift of the age of airbrushed brand building? Is it a corollary of the Size Zero brand of beauty that endorses zero tolerance for those who do not conform to this contour craze?

Witnessing Aishwarya Rai's utmost dedication as a mother, it looks like Ash currently has only one world and that's none other than her 6-month-old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Aishwarya, who takes care of Aaradhya round-the-clock, has almost forgotten all her dear and loved ones around her.
Talking to a leading daily, Abhishek Bachchan said that his wife is totally into Aaradhya. Ash's day starts and ends with the baby. Abhishek also admits that he somewhat felt left out by his beautiful wife as Aishwarya takes care of their child every single second. Hence, Aishwarya has kept Abhi wait in a queue for her attention.
Abhishek has been a very supporting husband. He respected every single decision taken by Ash. Even now, when Aishwarya has kept herself away from work and films for Aaradhya, Abhishek never forced her to sign new movies. Even on Aishwarya's part, it's a dream to watch out such a successful woman, dedicating herself as a true mother to her newborn. We also salute the former Miss World's great abilities to handle all the public criticisms (weight gain criticisms) with poise. Well Abhi and Ash, we just love the way you are.

While everyone is busy discussing Aishwarya Rai's post-pregnancy weight issues, another rumour doing the rounds is that she might be pregnant again which is why she is not bothered to shed flab anytime soon. Reports say she may just lengthen her break from the films to have another baby.
So, all her fans out there who are expecting to see the beauty hit the silver screen, it looks like it's not going to happen anytime soon.
Some reports say that a noted critic who is a very good friend of Ash is believed to have disclosed that Aishwarya is planning her second child very soon.
Many promising projects have come to Aishwarya's way but the new mommy is not interested to commit to any long tern project.
Aishwarya recently travelled with her five-month-old baby to Dubai for an event and now she is attending the Cannes Film Festival with her daughter Aaradhya.
There is no confirmation or denial from the Bachchans on this report so far.

While the entire world is obsessed with Aishwarya Rai's weight gain, the new mommy Lara Dutta thinks the other way. Taking Ash's side, Mrs Bhupathi slammed all those who have been criticising the former's weight gain programme.
Talking to a leading daily, Lara asked people not to be judgemental on Aishwarya's post pregnancy flab. She feels that no one has the right to pass comments on Ash's weight gain. We have all learnt how a yoga addict Lara made it a point to maintain a good shape even after her delivery.
Lara has been practising yoga for over 12 years and continued through her pregnancy period. Lara's latest fitness DVD for pregnant mothers, provides valuable tips. Added to that are labour-oriented exercises that build endurance and provide pregnant women with breathing techniques that could be useful during child birth. Hence, we must say Lara is one of the fittest mom in the industry.

Fights and brawls are part of every human being's life, but sustaining strained relationships with loved ones is no less than stupidity. That's what has happened in the case of the Bachchans and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.
The much-hyped strained relationship between Aishwarya Rai and Bhandarkar had gained immense media attention so far. We have all learnt how a pregnant Ash was unceremoniously dropped from Bhandarkar's Heroine, and Kareena Kapoor was chosen for the concerned role.
Since then, Madhur Bhandarkar has been extremely verbal in expressing his vengeance against Ash for concealing her pregnancy. In return to this, Aishwarya received a full fledged support from pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. But surprisingly, it seems that all is well now.
Mumbai Mirror have recently learnt that Bhandarkar and the Big B were seen chatting warmly at a five star hotel, during the shoot of a commercial. It looks like the duo has buried the hatchet and are friends again. So, does the Big B-Bhandarkar reconciliation mean that the Bachchan bahu rani Aishwarya too will turn friend with the Heroine director again?
Celebrities have to pay a heavy price for being a star. One such person who has always been at the centre of criticism is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. However, the beautiful actress has tackled the harsh criticism shot out to her time and again by the media in the most poise and dignified manner.
Though Bollywood celebs seem to have fame and money in plenty, what they do not have is privacy and space! The actors and actresses are singled out and criticised for every thing they do – whether it be the clothes they wear or the manner in which they speak or carry themselves. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the eyes of cynosure ever since she rose to fame after winning the Miss World contest in 1994.
Whether it is the clothes that she wore at public events (particularly the Cannes Film Festival), her hairdo or the giggles and laughter that accompanied all her interviews, Aishwarya was never spared. The media lashed out at her on every given occasion.
Aishwarya Rai's weight gain post delivery is currently the talk of the town and has gone the rumour mill churning out stories of how Aishwarya is trying to hide her weight in loosely fitted anarkali clothes. There was also a buzz that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not walk the red carpet this year too.
The most interesting aspect is that Aishwarya has reacted in only one way....and that is a deep long silence! Aish has always maintained silence and has never condemned or lashed out at the media so far.
While it is difficult for most people to ignore atrocious things written about them, Aishwarya just prefers to ignore them! Smart thinking, we must say!
